Miley Cyrus says she plans to walk away from music after her next album because she lacks inspiration.

The 17-year-old Hannah Montana star reckons her third album, due for release later this year, will be her last because she wants to rediscover herself as an artist.

"The more I make music that doesn't truly inspire me, the more I feel like I'm blending in with everyone else," she said in an interview with America's Teen Vogue magazine. Awww. Katy Perry is so loved-up with Russell Brand she is ditching her usual flirt-fest lyrics and filling her next album with love songs.

The 'I Kissed a Girl' singer wants "to evolve like Madonna," she told Rolling Stone magazine. "If I had to be the fruity pin-up girl another day, I would jump off the Hollywood sign."

She revealed the new album, set for release this winter explores her "awe of the supernatural world" and would be filled with at least 50 percent love songs.

But by the sounds of it, the other half will still be full of cheeky wordplay. The track 'Dressing Up' including the lyrics "You wanna pet my kitty?" and "My cookie monster wants a taste."

However, Perry dismissed the implied naughtiness, saying "I think those lyrics are cute."

Bret Michaels refuses to apologise after being slammed for recording a suggestive song featuring Miley Cyrus singing harmonies.

In his new song, 'Nothin' to Lose', the 46-year-old father-of-two sings "We both know better than this; still we can't resist; slowly get undressed." To which 17-going-on-30-year-old Cyrus sings "Yeah she does."

Michaels told Us Weekly magazine he's received 75 texts about the scandal and insists "it's blown out of proportion".

The Rock of Love star said he had originally recorded the song solo but the Hannah Montana star was desperate to sing on it after hearing it while they were re-recording the Poison classic, 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn'.

Michaels does admit he never gave the "lyrical content" a second thought and promised the "slowly get undressed" lyric had no reference to the both of them. "It's not even a duet," Michaels said.

He said nobody advised him against it and all initial reviews were positive for the track set to appear on his solo album, Custom Built, to be released in late May this year.
